Ski Racing Summer Camps

Yes we are in the heart of race season, but it’s already time to start thinking about summer camps. SPAC offers high quality individual athlete focused ski racing summer camps for u10 athletes and up. Camps are a great way to cement learning from the season and to start your next season in an even stronger position. Camps focus on gates training as well as skill building and conditioning. Athlete to coach ratios are low allowing coaching to be focused on each individual athlete. Plus summer camp is a super fun way to ski in the sun with all of your SPAC teammates and friends!

This year SPAC’s Dave Lyon will be offering at least two summer race camps.

  • 5 DAY GATES CAMP –  6/27-7/1 at Timberline at Mt Hood and is based out of Government Camp, OR. U12 and up are welcome to come without parents and stay in the camp house. U10 athletes may attend as a day camp but must stay in their own accommodations with their parents. 5 day camp offers a nurturing supportive environment for both younger and older athletes. Last year the all inclusive cost – lodging, meals, lift tickets, and camp transportation was $1550. Cost this year is TBD but will likely be similar.
  • 9 DAY CAMP – 7/12-7/21 also at Timberline is a more intensive camp for the older athlete. It is open to u14 athletes and up  and features talented guest coaches from all over the country, giving athletes the chance to get a different perspective under a new set of eyes. All inclusive cost last year was $2500 for the week. Cost this year is TBD but will likely be similar.

We unfortunately are not able to offer a speed camp this year.

We hope that this information will help you make your summer plans. Typically there is a waitlist for the 9 day camp. Accommodations and number of slots for the 5 day camp will be largely dependant on interest. We will be sending out a signup genius to all currently registered SPAC athletes asking them to gauge there interest in attending camp. Let us know what your thoughts are so we can plan accordingly.

We hope you will consider attending a summer camp this year. We will send out a separate email when camp registration officially opens. Until then enjoy the rest of your race season and keep thinking about snow! Summer sun will come soon enough.
